This Privacy Policy explains how TamilText (“we”, “us”) at tamiltext.com handles information when you use our website and tools.

1. Text you type or paste

  • Converters, counters and calculators run entirely in your browser. The text you enter is not sent to our server.
  • For Tamil typing suggestions, the romanised word you are typing (e.g. “vanakkam”) is sent from your browser to Google Input Tools to fetch suggestions. The same word may also be sent to our server so we can cache suggestions and keep the service fast. Your full document text is never uploaded to our server.
  • If you use Voice Typing, your browser’s speech engine (typically Google’s, in Chrome/Edge) processes your microphone audio to produce text. We do not receive or store that audio on our servers. Voice Typing works best in Chrome or Edge and requires your microphone permission.
  • Your text and optional history entries may be saved in your own browser’s local storage so they are not lost if you refresh the page. You can delete them with Clear / clear history. We do not store this content on our server.
  • Email and Print use your device only (your email app or the print dialog). We do not send those messages through our servers.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server and our CDN provider (Cloudflare) process technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit. This is used for security, abuse prevention (rate limiting) and basic statistics. Server logs are kept for a limited time.

3. Cookies and advertising

We do not currently set tracking cookies. We may in the future display advertisements served by third parties such as Google AdSense. Those providers may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. This policy will be updated before any advertising is enabled.

4. Children

Our tools are general-purpose and not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Your choices

You can clear your browser’s local storage and cookies at any time. To ask about any data related to you, contact us at [email protected].

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
